1936 Buick hood ornaments are hard to come by in good shape. This pot metal part looked pretty good until it was broken off at the base. Because of that, it was decided that it should be repaired rather than finding a replacement.
Generally, you’ll find the mounting base cracked from engine and road vibration. Pot Metal is a fairly weak metal and until now, original pot metal parts were simply discarded for aftermarket parts that rarely look or fit like the original equipment and replacements. For many years, this has been the only solution.
