1973 Chevelle Emblem Repair
Here we have a 1973 Chevelle deck-lid emblem/badge with the letter “C” missing.
The problem with this year of Chevelle, these badges are non existent in complete form and are not reproduced in aftermarket parts. This posses a big problem for restorations of this year of Chevelle owners.
About a year ago, I repaired one these emblems for a gentleman which the original “C” wasn’t missing, but just broken off. And recently he contacted me again to see if I could reproduce a replacement pot metal letter and weld it onto the existing emblem? Without even thinking about it, I said: Sure! I’m always up for a challenge! …Yikes! Boy did I step in it lol.
About a month or so of trail and error of trying to capture the fine detail into a new letter, I finally arrived at this newly casted pot metal letter “C”. And I must say the photos do not do it justice. Not even close. The detail is absolutely amazing! The process even captured the minor imperfections of the original letter.
