Vintage Nash Lafayette Grille Repair
This 1936 Pot metal Nash Lafayette grille had been damaged by and another vehicle while parked. The owner looked high and low for a replacement, but none where to be found. That’s when the owner reached out to James…
As you can see from the photos, it was badly damaged – the lower, left portion of the grille was completely broken off and was a bit bent. Many of the ribs didn’t fit properly so the grille had to be heated in order to straighten it up. Once the grille was straighten up, the repair went very well. All of the ribs lined up very well and repairs were completed.
Photos were then sent to the owner of the completed work, needless to say, he was overwhelmed with excitement! At the time of this writing, the grille is being replated at Show Quality Metal Finishing in Wa. Photos of it will be posted in about 6 weeks.
