Repairing License plate frames: Before and After

We’ve been blessed to have the honor to repair many antique and or rear licence plate frames.

Although License plate frames seem like an quick and easy repair, however they are far from that.

You see, license plate frames are made with, to say the least, of the dirtiest unmanaged materials in existence and often making them very difficult to repair. They can be on occasion more time consuming then any job in the shop.

Thankfully, we are continuously improving our one-off process and equipment to better deal with dirty, contaminated pot metal. However some license plate frames are so contaminated making them an impossible task for repair.

On that not, we have good news for you. To hopefully show our appreciation trusting us with your invaluable items, testing pot metal to determine its “weldability” is provided free.  In a case such as mentioned above, you would only be obligated to pay for return shipping if the item was determined to be unrepairable. 

Here’s one example of a license plate frame repair photos from before and after the repairs. This particular repair, we had our reservations about it due to how plating was flaking off. However after testing it, it was found to have very clean metal which is highly unusual for license plate frames.
